Our Presentations

One of the most important pillars of our club is our educational efforts. EDAS offers presentations for organizations, clubs, classes, and communities on and off campus. EDAS offers two presentations, both geared towards initiating conversations around how to foster positive food and body relationships, and how societal factors may serve as a barrier to this goal. EDAS takes a preventative educational approach, meaning that educating individuals on building positive relationships with food and body empowers them to deflect negative messaging they hear in society and create a community in supporting one another.

Our first presentation discusses topics such as the definition of normal eating, diet culture, body diversity, Health At Every Size, exercise and movement, how to support a loved one with an ED, and resources at the UO and Eugene area. Our second presentation focuses on an in-depth discussion about body positivity and body neutrality, and how these movements function within our society to support individuals in finding peace, appreciation, and love for their bodies. Neither of our presentations defines eating disorders, their subsets, behaviors, stories, numbers, sizes, or anything that may directly trigger an individual.

We are able to accommodate our presentation style to best fit the audience at hand and are committed to being transparent and open about the topics we discuss. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us to discuss more of what our presentation looks like. Our presentations can be requested on the Duck Nest website under their Qualtrics survey, or you can reach out to us using the contact form on our website's home page.
