For Students

Whether you are an incoming freshman or on the verge of celebrating your college graduation, in this day and age we are constantly surrounded by negative food and body talk. It is nearly impossible to escape and difficult to ignore. During times of change, we can become especially susceptible and influenced by toxic food and body culture. The messaging we receive can cause harmful habits to develop that fundamentally change our relationships with food and body. There are multiple resources on campus for students that struggle with disordered eating, body image issues, or any range of negative relationships with food, body, and self.

The University Health Services (UHS) offers medical and mental health services and resources for UO students seeking support for eating disorders. UHS staff can facilitate higher-level treatment and outpatient medical support for those with established care teams. The Duck Nest is a department affiliated with UHS that helps you develop self-care and life-balance strategies. They provide a holistic approach to wellness and are here to connect students to multiple resources on and off campus.

Food Security

EDAS recognizes that our food philosophy, which emphasizes embracing all foods as a part of a balanced diet, may not be accessible to those without the means to access a variety of foods. While our club's primary focus is not on food security, we acknowledge that students' access to food is a privilege that not all individuals enjoy. It is important to note that the University of Oregon offers numerous resources to address food insecurity and provide support to students on campus. Visit the link below to learn more.
